Vibration
Vibration is the repeated back-and-forth motion of a particle when displaced from its equilibrium position. Due to its oscillatory property, it exhibits a periodic or repetitive motion. A periodic motion is characterized by repeatedly occurring motion at regular time intervals.
pitch
Pitch is a measure of how high or low something sounds and is related to the speed of the vibrations that produce the sound. Volume is a measure of how loud or soft something sounds and is related to the strength of the vibrations. Sound is caused by vibrations (back and forth movements. that occur very quickly)
amplitude
Amplitude is a measurement of the amount of energy transferred by a wave. Amplitude on a transverse wave is typically measured as the distance between the peak or trough of the wave and the equilibrium position, or the position of the medium at rest.
frequency
frequency, in physics, the number of waves that pass a fixed point in unit time; also, the number of cycles or vibrations undergone during one unit of time by a body in periodic motion.
oscillation
Oscillation is going back and forth repeatedly between two positions or states. An oscillation can be a periodic motion that repeats itself in a regular cycle, such as the side-to-side swing of a pendulum, or the up-and-down motion of a spring with a weight.
wave
A wave is a disturbance that travels or propagates from the place where it was created. Waves transfer energy from one place to another, but they do not necessarily transfer any mass. Light, sound, and waves in the ocean are common examples of waves.
loudness
Loudness is defined as the property of sound which is used for differentiating between the loud and faint sounds. Amplitude is the characteristic of the sound that determines the loudness of the sound. It is directly proportional to the square of the amplitude of vibration.
intensity
In science, intensity is the magnitude of a quantity per unit area. In physics, intensity is usually used describe the magnitude of waves per unit area. Another way to interpret the intensity of a wave is as the time average of the power of a wave per unit of area.
Wavelength
Wavelength is the distance between identical points (adjacent crests) in the adjacent cycles of a waveform signal propagated in space or along a wire.
