Testes; stimulates production of sperm

Luteinizing Hormone

Target Organ - Ovaries, testes

Hormone 2 - Ovaries; progestins, estrogens / testes; androgens

Effect - females; stimulates ovulation

males ; stimulates cells of testes to secrete testosterone

Target Organ - Thyroid gland

Hormone 2 - thyroid hormones

Effect - stimulated growth of gland and secretion of thyroid hormone

ACTH

Adrenocorticotropic Hormone

Target Organ - Adrenal glands / cortex

Hormone 2 - Glucocorticoids

Effect - regulates respond to stress, stimulates release of corticosteroids that regulate glucose, fat and protein metabolism

Effect - Production of milk
