Instructions for Side by Side Printing
  1. Print the notecards
  2. Fold each page in half along the solid vertical line
  3. Cut out the notecards by cutting along each horizontal dotted line
  4. Optional: Glue, tape or staple the ends of each notecard together
  1. Verify Front of pages is selected for Viewing and print the front of the notecards
  2. Select Back of pages for Viewing and print the back of the notecards
NOTE: Since the back of the pages are printed in reverse order (last page is printed first), keep the pages in the same order as they were after Step 1. Also, be sure to feed the pages in the same direction as you did in Step 1.

Which of the following disorders is a result of aneuploidy?

back 1

Klinefelters syndrome

front 2

Monohybrid cross: An organism that is homozygous recessive for a trait is crossed with a known heterozygote. What is the probability of getting an offspring that is homozygous recessive?

back 2

50%

front 3

Define aneuploidy.

back 3

an abnormal number of chromosomes (one more or one less)

front 4

Dihybrid cross: Black fur in mice (B) is dominant to brown fur (b). The short tail trait (T) is dominant to long tails (t). What proportion of the progeny of the cross BbTt x BBtt will have black fur and long tails?

back 4

50%

front 5

In cattle, roan coat color (mixed red and white hairs) occurs in the heterzygous (RW) of red (RR) and white (WW) homozygotes. The polled (hornless) gene (H) is dominant to the horned (h) gene. What proportion of roan polled cattle would you expect from a RWhhx WWHH cross?

back 5

100%

front 6

In a dihybrid cross where the P generation included one parent that was homozygous dominant for both traits (red, axial flowers), and one parent that was homozygous recessive for both traits (white terminal flowers), what would be the expected proportions of the following phenotypes among the F 2 generation?

r

back 6

9 red axial: 3 red terminal: 3 white axial: 1 white terminal

front 7

Snapdragons can have red, white, or pink flowers. Red flowers are the result of a homzygous genotype for red; white flowers result when the organism is homozygous for white; and pink is the result of a heterozygous genotype (one red gene and one white gene). This type of inheritance, where the heterozygote is intermediate in phenotype between the two homozygotes is known as:

back 7

incomplete dominance

front 8

What is the karyotype for Turners syndrome?

back 8

monosomy of the X chromosome

front 9

Which of the following males would have one or more Barr bodies?

back 9

Klinefelters syndrome

front 10

What is the karyotype for Turners syndrome?

back 10

monosomy of the X chromosome

front 11

Cystic fibrosis is inherited as an autosomal recessive. A couple who are both carriers for the gene for cystic fibrosis, have two children who have cystic fibrosis. What is the probability that their next child will be normal?
