What are functionalism and structuralism?
Functionalism: How mental processes function; how humans & animals use mental processes in adapting to their environment.
Structuralism: Analyzes the basic elements, or structure of conscious mental experience.
Behaviorism
"Study of behavior." Emphasizes that behavior is determined primarily by factors in the environment.
Psychoanalysis
Revolves around the belief that everyone has unconscious thoughts, feelings, desires, and memories.
Humanistic Psychology
A perspective that focuses on the whole person; emphasizes the individual's ability to make meaning and purpose in their lives.
