Short bone

Flat bone

Characteristic features include complex, jutting processes and include the vertebral column and the non-flat bones of the skill and pelvis
Sesamoid bone
Small, round bone that resembles a sesame seed which are present mear freely moving joints , such as the patella and the proximal and distal sesamoid bones (function to protect tendons in the areas at which the greatest friction is developed)
