Newton's 1st law
Know as the law of inertia. Inertia: If an object is in motion it stays in motion, if it stays at rest is stays at rest.
Newton's second law
If an object is big, the smaller it's change in motion. Is and object is small, the bigger it's change in motion.
acceleration
change in motion of an object ex: runner
Newton's third law
for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction
miniral
nonliving, naturally occurring solid with a specific arrangement of particles
igneous
formed when melted rocks are cooled and hardend
sedimentary
formed when layers of materials and rocks settle on top of each other
Metamorphic
formed inside the earth from other rocks under heat and pressure
erosion
moment of materials from one place to aother
deposition
process of layering materials
fossil fuels
energy resources that are found in coal, oil and natural gas
coal
formed from plants
natural gas
formed from the remains of tiny living organisms
landforms
natural land features on the earths surface
moving water
causes lots of erosion
rivers
can pick up and carry sediments
fast rivers
creates valleys and deep canyons
deltas
rivers slow down and drops sediment.
rain
loosens sediment from coals than carry away in floods
waves
erosion on coastlines(beaches)
glaciers
larger masses of ice
wind erosion
blowing dust, sand and soil
sand dunes
large loose deposits of sand
fields
when dry wind causes severe erosion
weathering
slow breaking down of rocks
